Hamid w Toom (Lemon garlic dip)

A very tasty dip/vinegrette that is indispensable with chicken and fish dishes, especially grilled one. Syrian like it with lots of garlic, but you can control the amount of garlic added.


  • Juice of 1 big lemon
  • 4-7 gloves of mashed garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • A pinch of ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


  1. Combine all ingredients and mix well and serve in a bowl.
  2. Serve with chicken and fish dishes. Syrians usually wrap pieces of meat in bite-size pieces of flat bread and dip in garlic lemon vinaigrette.
